The Many Names And Titles Of Jesus

The Bible includes numerous references to who Jesus Christ is. His many names and titles are significant to His character, His purpose and His time spent here on Earth.

The names and titles of Jesus reflect His presence in all of life circumstances. He is a teacher, Savior, redeemer, deliver and a friend. He is all of these things and so much more.

Below are some of the many names and titles of Jesus and where they can be found in the Bible.

Immanuel – Matthew 1:23 (ESV)

“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel”(which means, God with us).

Lamb of God – John 1:29 (ESV)

The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

Resurrection and the Life – John 11:25 (ESV)

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live…”

Master and Lord – John 13:13 (KJV)

“Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.”

Bread of Life – John 6:35 (ESV)

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”

The Bright and Morning Star – Revelation 22:16 (ESV)

Messiah – John 1:41 (ESV)

He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means Christ)”

Alpha and Omega – Rev 22:13 (ESV)

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.”

Conclusion

There are over 200 names and titles of Jesus in scripture. All of Jesus’ names and titles reflect who he is, his nature, his attributes, his mission and his never-failing love for all believers.
