5 Things To Be Thankful For At Thanksgiving
While we are thankful to be able to gather around the dinner table and carve the turkey at Thanksgiving, there are an array of other things that we should also be grateful for this season.
Some of these things we have taken for granted mainly due to our busy schedules and the overall fast-moving pace of life. Thanksgiving however is a time that we can take a moment to reflect on life and be grateful for what have.
This thanksgiving, let us express gratitude for our many blessings and be thankful for these 5 things and more.
1. Good Health
Good health is a blessing. Without it, life would certainly be harder to navigate. Every morning that you are alive and well is a gift. If you were fortunate enough to get out of bed today without assistance, dress and feed yourself, and can carry out daily activities on your own, count your many blessings. Recognize this gift and take a moment to be thankful for it.
2. Family
Some of us would not be where we are today if it were not for the support of family. Some family members have helped shaped you, others have guided you and some have showered you with love over the course of your life. They have helped with the kids, took care of you when you were ill or assisted in other ways that made life a little more bearable for you. Let us be thankful for the gift of family during this season of Thanksgiving.
3. Good Friendships
Good friends are a true gift. These are the ones who stick with you through thick and thin. They respect your decisions, offer support when you need it, hurt when you hurt and are not afraid to correct you at times when they feel that you are wrong. Good friends are just like family. If you have been blessed with a good friend, this is something to be thankful for during this season.
4. The Place You Call Home
Home is where the heart is. If you have a place to call home, you should be grateful. There are countless people in world who are unable to say the same. Be thankful for the gift of shelter this Thanksgiving.
5. A Job
Having a source of income has a tremendous impact on our lives. It is through this channel that we are able to take care of ourselves and support our families. Even if you have not landed your dream job as yet, if you are currently employed, this is something to be thankful for.
Takeaway
The list of things to thankful for could go on and on. In short, let us be grateful for all that we have been afforded no matter how great or small. We should most certainly remember the gift of life, because without it all if our other experiences could not exist. Thanks be to God in this season of Thanksgiving, now, and always.
