5 Reasons To Visit Universal’s Volcano Bay
If you’re ever in the Orlando area be sure to check out Universal’s Volcano Bay water park. Replacing the Wet ‘n’ Wild water park, Volcano Bay is fun filled and has attractions that the entire family can enjoy.
Here are 5 reasons to visit Universal’s Volcano Bay.
The TapuTapu System
Every guest receives an assigned TapuTapu waterproof watch. With TapuTapu you can tap to pay, access rented lockers, and even stand in virtual lines. Who does not want to skip the lines right! Secure your spot by taping your watch at a Tapu station. A return time will then be provided to you. Enjoy other attractions at the park while you wait. The watch will vibrate when it’s time for you to return to your selected ride. With the lockers, you can place all your valuables in a locker and not worry about them for the rest of the day. Use your wristband to tap and access your locker when you return. You can also use the TapuTapu to capture your memories at photo stations across the park. The watch can also be used to activate some interactive water features around the park. Oh, remember to return your TapuTapu before you leave. There are bins conveniently located at the exits for you to do so.
Vol
Inside the Krakatau Volcano is where you can meet Vol, the spirit of the volcano. Use your TapuTapu band to activate this interactive spirit. If you ask, Vol will even smile for you to take a picture!
TeAwa The Fearless River
TeAwa The Fearless River is a must do. Riders will have to grab a life jacket before entering this river. This is a roaring river ride with lots of choppy waves. You will travel through caves under the volcano as you ride the rapid waves. Listen out for the sound of an eruption! At the sound, a massive rush of waves will be pushed out from a specific cave.
Taniwha Tubes
These are 4 tube slides. The 2 green slides are named Tonga and the 2 blue slides are called Raki. This ride can be ridden singularly or in pairs. Watch out for the tiki statues on the ride that can spray you at any time!
Hona Ika Moana
It’s a super fun raft ride with twists and turns. Some parts of the ride are enclosed, and some parts are open. There are walls within the ride that sweep the tubes up then bring them back down for an added thrill! Up to 5 people can ride on a tube at the same time.
Take Away
Universal’s Volcano Bay will not disappoint. This is a glimpse, but this park has lots more to offer. To get the most enjoyable experience out of the park, it’s best to plan to be at the park about 30 minutes before it opens. This will allow you time to park your vehicle (which costs about $30 dollars for regular self-parking), take the complementary shuttle bus to the park entrance, and purchase your park tickets.
